Kyle Martin

For more than twenty years I've focused on people and technology inside companies.

Most recently I was Chief People and Technology Officer at Powder Mountain, running HR and IT for Reed Hastings, obsessed with the culture and executive team performance. Before that I led HR at Brown and Caldwell, an employee-owned engineering firm, where organizational health moved from 83 to 90 percent favorable and turnover came down to 10 percent. Before that, six years at Cornerstone OnDemand on talent strategy and HR technology, and eight years at Vail Resorts, starting as an HR specialist and ending responsible for hiring across 15,000 people.

The overlap of people and technology has been a passion of mine my whole career. Every role I've had included both. That's why Symbios treats agents as part of culture rather than an IT topic sitting next to it.

And there is Outdoor Mindset. I founded it as a nonprofit in 2010 to connect adults affected by neurological challenges through time spent outdoors together. Leading the board of directors and many volunteers since the beginning, we've built a great community together.

Symbios is a creative project where the culture work in those companies gets written down and built into a framework. It's an opportunity for me to keep geeking out on culture, sharing ideas, and iterating.
